projects that benefit the company. 5. Eliminate Procrastination This is my worst enemy. I use to live on the motto, "Why do today what I can put off until tomorrow." Time manage- ment allows me to address problems w hen they came up instead of waiting until later and letting the problem get worse. 6. Develop Employees I can't tell you how important it is to develop your employees. Make time for each employee, and it will benefit you a nd the company in the long run. Finding time for your employees allows you to get to know them better, and they will also learn about you and what you expect from them. 7. Track Employees Making sure you monitor your employ- e e productivity will save you time in the long run. The more you can train and trust your employees to do, the more time you will have to concentrate on other proj- ects. I can't express how important it is to develop your employees. This will also allow you to see what employees are per- forming and which ones need help. 8. Break Bad Habits This will take some time and not hap- pen overnight; but if you have the time to address your problems, it will cut down on some of the bad habits you have developed trying to get things done. 9. Motivate Employees The importance of time management can also help employee motivation. As an owner, I would set goals and create com- petition among employees. There would be some type of reward for the winner, and the losers would have to listen to the winners brag. It was great for morale! 10. Improve Life By planning and being more organ- ized, your whole life can change. Towing is stressful enough so if you can improve the workplace it will also improve your life outside work. Every part of managing time at work translates to fun outside of work. The problem here is that many peo- ple don't follow through with this. Many owners decide to ignore manag- ing time which leads to chaos in the workplace. The importance of time man- agement in the workplace can have unlimited positive effects on your employ- ees, productivity, and employee motiva- tion. So don't make the mistake of ignor- ing time management. u 22 Tow Professional | Volume 6 • Issue 1 | I igh ful alk
